These Terms of Service (these “Terms”) set forth the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between Haru (the “Company”) and users in connection with the use of the real-time Korean education service (the “Service”) provided by the Company through its website and applications (the “Platform”).

Article 1Purpose

The terms used in these Terms are defined as follows.
- “Platform” means the online service operated by the Company using information and communications facilities to provide content and lesson services.
- “User” means any member or non-member who accesses the Platform and uses the Service in accordance with these Terms.
- “Tutor” means a member who provides real-time education services (“Lessons”) through the Platform.
- “Student” means a member who purchases Lessons and Tutor services through the Platform.
- “Haru Credits” means refundable virtual credits operated by the Company. They are not a standalone purchasable product; they are issued to Students when a valid cancellation or refund event occurs and may be used for subsequent Lesson payments. The base currency of Credits is US dollars (USD).
- “Lesson Agreement” means the lesson service agreement concluded directly between a Student and a Tutor.
Article 3Eligibility
- The Platform may only be used by persons aged 14 or older.
- Users warrant that they meet the minimum age requirements under applicable laws when using the Platform.
- The Company may restrict or terminate an account if it determines that the user does not meet the minimum age requirement.
Article 4Relationship Between the Company and Users
- The Haru Platform is an online intermediary platform where members interact directly with each other.
- The Company is not a party to Lesson Agreements concluded between Students and Tutors.
- The Company does not directly control the individual conduct of Students and Tutors, and limits its liability to the extent permitted by applicable laws.
Article 5Lesson Purchase and Payment
- Students may purchase Lessons using payment methods approved by the Company. International payments are supported via PayPal, and domestic (Korea) payments are supported via credit card and easy-pay services through NICE Payments.
- Payments are processed through payment service providers designated by the Company.
- All Lesson prices are displayed in Korean won (KRW) and US dollars (USD).
- Purchased Lessons must all be used within 3 months from the date of purchase; any Lessons not used within that period are automatically forfeited.
- For purchased Lessons, the first Lesson must be booked within 60 days from the date of purchase; if no booking is made within that period, the Lessons are automatically forfeited.
Article 6Haru Credits and Refund Procedure
- Haru Credits cannot be purchased separately.
- Haru Credits are a refund method issued upon lesson cancellation or refund processing.
- Issued Credits may only be used for future Lesson payments within the Platform.
- Except where required by applicable laws, Credits are not refundable in cash.
- Credits may expire if a member’s account remains inactive for 12 months or longer.
Article 7Lesson Booking and Cancellation
- A Lesson booking is confirmed when a Student selects a Tutor and completes payment.
- Students may cancel or reschedule a Lesson through the Platform up to 3 hours before the Lesson starts.
- Cancellation or rescheduling requests made within 3 hours of the Lesson start time are considered Late Cancellations.
- No refund is provided for Late Cancellations or No-shows, and the full Lesson fee may be paid to the Tutor.
- In the following cases, refunds are provided only in Haru Credits.
- Normal cancellation at least 3 hours before the Lesson start
- Cancellation due to the Tutor’s circumstances
Article 8Fees and Other Costs
- The Company may charge service fees in connection with operating the Platform.
- Fees, deductions, and other costs are separately notified within the Platform.
- Additional costs may arise in the course of payment, currency exchange, remittance, bank fees, exchange rate differences, and the use of third-party payment services.
Article 9Intellectual Property
- The design, UI, graphics, content, and other intellectual property of the Platform belong to the Company.
- Users may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or commercially exploit Platform content without the Company’s prior written consent.
Article 10Lesson Recording
- The Company may record real-time Lessons for quality control and dispute resolution purposes.
- Users are deemed to have consented to the recording policy when using the Platform.
- Unauthorized recording, reproduction, or distribution by users is prohibited.
Article 11Prohibited Conduct
Users must not engage in any of the following conduct.
- Using the Service by fraudulent means
- Attempting an unjustified chargeback or payment cancellation after payment
- Interfering with the operation of the Platform
- Infringing the rights of others
- Violating applicable laws
Article 12Account Suspension and Termination
The Company may restrict or terminate an account without prior notice in any of the following cases.
- Violation of these Terms
- Fraud, abuse, or misconduct
- Conduct causing harm to the Platform or other users
Article 13Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable laws, the Company shall not be liable for any indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages arising in connection with the use of the Platform or the Service.
Article 14Governing Law and Jurisdiction
- These Terms shall be interpreted and applied in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea.
- Any dispute arising in connection with these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Korea.
