You set your own price for a 25-minute lesson, so your rate is your decision. Haru takes a 15% platform fee from tutor earnings on completed lessons — a tutor who charges $20 per 25-minute lesson keeps $17. Withdrawals carry a separate 3.5% transfer fee. Your balance and every payout are itemized in the tutor dashboard.

Yes. Every lesson runs over Zoom video, so you can teach from home or anywhere with a stable connection. There are no fixed hours and no minimum number of lessons — you only appear bookable during the times you publish.

A formal teaching qualification is not required. What our team reviews is your profile, background, and intro video — whether you can explain clearly and teach the subject you're applying for. Certifications like a Korean Language Teacher Certification or TOPIK results help you stand out on your profile, but they are not a condition of approval.

No. Many students want immersion in Korean only, and beginners often pick tutors who share another language with them — English and Japanese are the most common. List whatever languages you speak on your profile; it simply changes which students you match with.

Some large platforms start commissions as high as 33% and only lower them as your lesson count grows; Haru is a flat 15% from day one. You set your own rate, and every payout is itemized per completed lesson in your dashboard. When comparing platforms, look at three things together: the fee structure, how payouts work, and the student pool.

Honestly — bookings don't pour in the moment your profile goes live. The slowest stretch is before your first student and first review; once reviews and completed lessons accumulate, visibility and bookings grow together.
